Can't get 'Promises' from Ann Summers to turn on... anyone used it?

I just bought the 'promises' vibrator- I have new batteries and have tried to screw on the battery compartment as tightly as possible but it still won't work- has anyone used it who can give me a run-through just in case I'm doing something wrong?
