My dog likes beef jerky for people?

Well I was eating beef jerky and my dog comes up and begs me for some so I give him a small penny sized piece. Then he goes crazy and starts running around then comes back for more. Even as I'm typing this he thinks I have more jerky to give him, is this a bad thing?
