New guinea pig, advice needed!?
i just got a new guinea pig, given to me by someone. when it was given to me, he's about slightly more than a month old. before it was given to me, he's in the same litter with his parents and another sibling who was birth at the same time. i only got it for a week. first few days he keeps hiding in his hutch, probably separation anxiety and new environment. he's staying out more often now, which is good. i read up some info about the pigs and found out that it'll be good to let the pig socialize with humans. thing is, when i carry him on my hand or leave him on my lap. he doesn't move, is that even normal? and seems like he's a very quiet pig. he squeaks even when there's food around but i was told that's not a big problem. he dashes around the cage sometimes, so uming he wants to run around, i carry him out and leave him on the floor but all he does is stay put. is there something wrong with him? or am i intimidating him? he squeaks sometimes when i carry him too. i don't know if that's a happy squeak or a sad squeak. i've had a lot of animals before, but this is my first guinea pig, must say he had me there. someone, help! i hope i'm not sub-consciously stressing my pig.
