My parents won't let me watch gay tv shows?

Whenever I watch Queer as Folk, True Blood, or Glee they freak out and make me turn it off. Their reason is that they don't see why I have to "only watch shows with gay people in it," which isn't true. I watch Charmed, Gilmore Girls, House, and Bones. I'm a year away from moving out and am 16 years old so it's not because I'm too young. How can I get them to get over their gay-phobia? It really makes me sad that they get so mad at me watching these shows because I've been thinking about coming out to them, but this has caused me to reconsider it. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
